Excellent restaurant on the terrace with 4 fantastic Vegan options on the menu. Quality, fresh food cooked expertly with staff having a good understanding of vegan requirements. Waiters are super friendly. All round a pleasure eating here.

I loved everything about this place. Super polite and extremely attentive staff. Here you feel like you don’t even meed to walk, someone will run to carry you. We got a complementary upgrade to the ocean view; it was amazing. Pool is fun and beach is super cool (you have direct access). We dined at the grill room, I felt like I was in a 80’s American romantic movie on a cruise. Was lovely. The breakfast on the terrace was also amazing. Top notch selection on colds and hots, sparkling wine and you can even upgrade to oysters. We’ll probably be back.

It was a spontaneous girls day out. We has opted for lunch with a view of the lighthouse and sparkling crystal blue pool.I had fish and chips. Being Muslim, they explained that the battered fish would be swapped for a grilled fillet of fish. It was beautifully seasoned. I was surprised to find bones in the fillet. Perhaps the chefs could be more careful during preparation. My friend enjoyed the chicken wrap, which was quite flavourful and sumptuous. The side salad was crisp, bright and fresh.Service was slow, due to the lunch rush. The wait staff were attentive despite the full restaurant. It just meant waiting a bit longer for food.I would recommend this place, but perhaps during a quieter time if you're impatient.

Our meals were a symphony of flavors that danced on our palates, a perfect symphony of traditional and contemporary tastes. A wonderful stay at this 5 star hotel. Amazing atmosphere, overlooking the beach and lighthouse. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Staff are very friendly and ever willing to help. A few restaurants on site; for fine dining and casual dining.Disappointed with the food for vegetarians and vegans. I would appreciate a better variety. A excellent spa on site.

The Oyster Box Hotel is an institution.The traditional afternoon tea is sheer delight. Booking well in advance via their website is extremely essential.Everything is pretty much top notch. The interior is magnificent, food is delicious, piano music beautiful and the staff just wonderful.Take the elevator to the roof top bar on 3rd floor after you finished high tea at 7:00 pm and savour the view.Safe parking on site.

This is the most stunning hotel I've ever visited. The staff are absolutely super and take the greatest care to cater for your every need.From the moment you walk into the hotel you feel like you've entered another country.Once you go to the outside verandah, you have the most beautiful view of the sea.I will recommend this hotel for anyone!!Cannot wait to visit again.

First and foremost, the location is unbeatable. The hotel is situated right on the beachfront, with breathtaking ocean views from many of the rooms. It's also conveniently located within walking distance of many shops, restaurants, and attractions, making it the perfect base for exploring Durban.The staff at the hotel were also outstanding. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm and friendly service that continued throughout our stay. The staff went out of their way to ensure that we had everything we needed and that our stay was as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.The room itself was absolutely stunning, with luxurious furnishings and all the amenities you could possibly need. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the room was kept immaculately clean throughout our stay.Finally, I have to mention the food. The breakfast spread was absolutely delicious, with a wide range of options to suit all tastes. We also tried the hotel's restaurant for dinner one night, and it was one of the best meals we had during our entire trip.5 stars all over !

Have been there a couple of times with my partner, but only in the bar at the top of the building. The staff is exceptional, very friendly and professional. The co*cktails are delicious, and you get an amazing view from the balcony of the Indian Ocean and the lighthouse.

Yes this place is pricey but it is also 100% worth it. The biggest thing about the Oyster Box is the service. The staff make you feel like royalty and are always happy to go the extra mile. The rooms are comfortable and mimosas at breakfast are great. Take advantage of all the extras.

My husband and I got away for a belated anniversary celebration. From the moment we arrived, we knew this place was special. We were treated like we were so important, from the moment we stepped out of the car. The beauty of the hotel, the friendliness and warmth of the staff, the attention to detail- this is a true gem. We were in awe. Our room had everything that we needed and more. A special anniversary treat on arrival and, later, in the restaurant for dinner were awaiting us.The clock library is a place where I can happily spend a whole day. Waking up to breaker views from our balcony ❤️. I could go on..... This incredible hotel and her staff- we love you. You made us feel at home.

Celebrated my birthday last month with getting spoilt at the Oyster Box High Tea.The service of the staff (from the doorman to the waitresses) was excellent. They were attentive and accommodating to my requests.The food was delicious. The buffer had the perfect selection of both sweet and savoury (there is so much, I couldn't try everything). The cheese cake was the best 😋 The brownies are highly recommended with cream, rich and amazing. Thank you to the staff for recommendationThank you as well for the complimentary birthday macaroons. Enjoyed themLoved the music as well. There is a person playing the piano right next to the high tea area, and it was relaxing.

We went to the Oyster Bar, a place we frequent. If you're eating at the couches on the side the tables are very small and are hard to place drinks and food at the same time. The menu doesn't cater much to vegetarians (we were fasting non veg in the day). It's a great place, but appropriate tables and vegetarian/vegan options should be implemented especially for a prestigious land mark that the Oyster Box is and always has been.

I cannot say enough about this spectacular hotel. It has history, beauty, gorgeous location, perfect well trained staff, the decor, etc etc. We were warmly welcomed by Londeka who gave us a lovely tour if the hotel. After tye welcome co*cktail we were informed that they kindly upgraded our room to a suit because it was our anniversary. The comfort, beauty and cleanliness of the suite was beyond what the photos show and the view from our balcony was out of this world. The hotel has 3 beautiful bars, a few amazing restaurants, a beautiful library, a wonderfully atmospheric little cinema, a spa, gym, 2 beautiful pools - I could go on and on. We loved the curry buffet and the high tea. Breakfasts were amazing.

Wonderful facility, extremely scenic, awesome hosts, fantastic place. A must stopover when travelling. Breakfast great too. What would really complete the establishment is a mountain bike route through the forest and plantation. Would make for a great weekend cycle park!!! More

Beautiful place to visit. Main courses were alright - lacking a bit of flavour but the dessert was great!!! 😊The service was excellent and can’t fault it. I think 12.5% automatic service charge is a bit steep compared to other places. 10% is reasonable but we should be allowed to add our own instead of it being automatic ☺️

This is the most luxurious hotel l've ever been to in terms of food selection. Everything you want for your soul, for every taste. The interior and the color combination is so colorful and pleasant to look at. We stayed in a room overlooking the ocean - the sound of the water is so gentle. At the same time, no problems with noise insulation thanks to the two doors to the balcony. I would love to go back there again.

A special mention must go to their red velvet cake - undoubtedly one of the best I’ve savored in a long while, striking a perfect balance without being overly sweet. The attentive service from the waitrons further enhanced the experience, making it feel genuinely luxurious.One minor area for improvement would be the temperature control. On a hot summer afternoon, the tea area did feel quite warm. However, this did not significantly detract from the overall experience, which was otherwise flawless. I realize now that a simple request to adjust the temperature could have been made, but the quality of everything else compels me to maintain a five-star rating.In conclusion, The Oyster Box has mastered the art of high tea, delivering an experience that is both indulgent and refined.
