These spinster's are unusually beautiful and young looking despite their age. They have all kinds of skills that endear them to their spouses to be, because they decide they can get past the trauma of loss so they can have this amazingly beautiful wife. They at least spent time together in this book.

When Vicky’s father dies he left the tea shop to her brother. Now he wants to change everything and doesn’t need her anymore. Best thing to do is leaving. A bet is what Alex brought him a wife but he doesn’t want to marry. But to help her he will marry her and they will annul their marriage in a couple of months.....or not?
Sweet fun story with lovable characters.

Mail Order Bride, Victoria (Vicky) Beckworth-Jones, arrives in Virginia to meet her soon to be husband, local baker Alex Cain. After a drunken dare, Alex writes a letter requesting a Mail Order Bride. When Vicky turns up expecting marriage, he is shocked.

Good read. I enjoyed this short story. It was packed with everything that makes a good read. Interesting characters with flair. A plot with tension and an enjoyable ending.

This is a great book with great characters, some of them not so nice. A sweet, heartwarming book about love at Christmas. After agreeing to a marriage in name only, read how the couple finds their HEA. Another well written book by Margaret Tanner that you won't want to miss.

Christmas magic

A very heartwarming and loving story. A man determined to never marry has a mail- order bride show up at his door step because he drunkenly sent for her. The story leaves you with a happy heart. Great story

I am a sucker for a Christmas novella. This was a good story. I felt bad for Vicky at the start of it and was hoping for a good outcome for her when she met Alex. I liked seeing their relationship develop and the welcoming community.

If your looking for a quick and heartwarming story then give this one a shot.

A great story

Alex- Baker in Virginia, has a limp
Victoria/Vicky- dad recently died and her brother gets everything and treats her like a servant.
I enjoyed reading this intriguing story that is well written with lovable characters. Their story has a sweet HEA.

Margaret Tanner has done it again bringing us a story with great characters, some more lovable than others. This is an easy to read heart warming story. I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it.

A good story

The story was very good and held my attention most of the time. I was surprised when it ended as I was looking for more about the early days of their Marriage. I did like the ending.
