Tiramisu Martini

One of Carnival's most famous ‘Classic co*cktails’ is the Tiramisu Martini. I am so excited Carnival was willing to share this great Carnival Tiramisu Martini Recipe with me.

Tiramisu is one of our favorite desserts, so this delicious co*cktail is perfect! I love that you can make dessert co*cktail recipes for the holidays, and they serve as both a drink and dessert.

This co*cktail tastes like the famed Italian dessert Tiramisu and contains some of our favorite liqueurs. A word of caution - this dessert co*cktail is all booze!

It packs a punch! This drink is best after dinner, so you have something to balance all the alcohol. If you are serving this at a party, make sure you have appetizers available for guests.

Decorating martini glasses with themed messages and fun designs would be so fun. On our last cruise on the Carnival Panorama, one of our favorite Alchemy Bar bartenders decorated martini glasses with chocolate, which looked amazing.

Ingredients

Here is a quick overview of the simple ingredients needed to make an epic Tiramisu Martini Drink! The printable recipe card at the bottom of the post includes specific measurements and step-by-step instructions.

  • Malibu Coconut Rum
  • Baileys Irish Cream Liqueur
  • Frangelico
  • Peach Schnapps
  • Disaronno Amaretto
  • Butterscotch Schnapps

Equipment Needed

  • co*cktail Shaker: This co*cktail shaker comes with a fantastic set of tools.
  • Martini Glass

How to Make a Tiramisu Martini

I've included complete instructions in the printable recipe card at the bottom of the post, but here's a quick version.

  1. Add all ingredients to a co*cktail shaker filled with ice.
  2. Shake vigorously and strain into a martini glass. Enjoy as-is or garnish as desired.

Preparation and Storage

Make Ahead + Storage: You can prepare this Tiramisu Martini the day before serving! Add the ingredients to an airtight storage container, store in the refrigerator until it’s time to serve, then decorate the glasses and add any garnishes just before serving.

Freezing/How to Freeze: Add the co*cktail ingredients to a blender filled with ice and a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a decadent Frozen Tiramisu Martini similar to our LuLu’s Famous Bushwacker or Spirit of Kentucky Bourbon Milkshake. Blend with half and half, heavy cream, or milk to reach the desired consistency.

Recipe Variations

Substitutions: We like using Malibu, Baileys, and Disaronno in many of our co*cktails on the site, but you do not need to use any specific brand of mixers to get the flavor of this drink.

Optional- Add a dash of cocoa powder on the top of the co*cktail as a garnish or serve with lady fingers. A dollop of whipped cream and chocolate shavings is also a nice presentation.

For a chilled glass you can place the martini glass in the freezer while preparing this beautiful after-dinner drink.

Vegetarian Option: This Tiramisu Martini is naturally vegetarian.

Vegan Option:

Vegans should replace the Baileys, Malibu Coconut Rum, and possibly the butterscotch schnapps with plant-based alternatives to make this recipe vegan.

Baileys Almande is the brand’s almond milk-based, dairy-free alternative. You can also make a homemade Irish cream with your favorite plant-based milk.

Butterscotch schnapps are typically vegan, as manufacturers tend to use the extract form instead of real butter, but check the product label on your bottle to confirm.

Gluten-Free:

Gluten-free drinkers will be pleased to know that most of this sweet co*cktail’s ingredients are safe for a gluten-free diet.

Malibu’s product line, including Original, is gluten-free.

Baileys states in its FAQs that it cannot confirm whether its products are gluten-free, so gluten-free drinkers should look for a gluten-free Irish cream to avoid cross-contamination.

Frangelico, peach schnapps, and butterscotch schnapps are on Celiac.com’s list of gluten-free liqueurs. This reference is excellent to bookmark if you are a gluten-free home mixologist.

Disaronno Amaretto is gluten-free and nut allergy-free.

Alcohol-Free Option: Replace each ingredient with an NA alternative to make this dessert martini alcohol-free. We also have an Easy Tiramisu Recipe if you want a more traditional option.

Smaller Serving Size: You can halve the written recipe for yummy Tiramisu Martini Shots.

Larger Group/More Servings: Scale the written recipe to your desired yield and add the ingredients to an airtight container to make it pitcher-style for a larger group. Refrigerate until serving. Serve in a large pitcher or bowl

Sugar-Free: The written recipe contains 24 grams of sugar per serving. Each ingredient contains sugar, and we have not seen sugar-free alternatives from the manufacturers, so look for sugar-free or low-sugar substitutes to lower the sugar content.

Tips for the Best Tiramisu Martini

  • Want to get creative and try making different designs inside the glass with chocolate syrup or caramel sauce? Check out this Chocolate Decorating Pen if you want to create fun designs.
  • When you shake the co*cktail shaker, use both hands to hold the lid firmly. You want to shake enough that the co*cktail ingredients get cold but not so long that they get watered down.
  • Make sure to use a martini glass that shows off your chocolate designs!
  • You can top this Tiramisu co*cktail with whipped cream if you want to.
  • Add a dusting of cocoa powder to the top if you like the flavor. Just make sure you only do a small amount. If you do too much, it can overpower the taste of the drink.
