Please find enclosed the Q1 2024 edition of KPMG's Financial Performance Index (FPI) publication. On a quarterly basis we provide our insights into the changing state of corporate health across European and Dutch markets and sectors. Key takeaways from this Q1 2024 edition: - The overall FPI score on a European level slightly improved to 89.2 in the past quarter; - 7 out of 9 key sectors of importance to the Dutch economy demonstrated improved scores; 8 out of 9 score in the 91 - 97 range (robust); - However, the FPI score of the Logistics sector, also a key sector for the Dutch economy, significantly lowered in Q1 2024; and - The number of zombie companies, i.e. companies close to default for three or more consecutive quarters, lowered in the past quarter to 3.1% (vs. 4.1% per Q4 2023). Almost 25% of these companies are from the Technology and Telecommunication sector. Please reach out to me if KPMG's Turnaround & Restructuring team can be of support to you - our services are set out on page 7 of the document. #KPMG #Turnaround #Restructuring #FinancialPerformanceIndex #DataDrivenInsights

I am pleased to share with you the Q3 2023 edition of our Financial Performance Index (FPI) publication. On a quarterly basis we provide our insights into the changing state of corporate health across European and Dutch markets and sectors. Key takeaways from this edition: - Overall FPI score slightly improved, in line with a small economic growth in the European Union in the past quarter; - However, the number of companies facing financial challenges continues to increase as also reflected by the growing demand for our services; and - Companies are confronted with challenges on both the revenue as well as cost (inflation) side, or a combination of both, and further pressures on liquidity. This is felt in among other the Retail and Health Care sectors. Please reach out to our multi disciplinary team if you have questions or if KPMG's Turnaround & Restructuring team can be of support to you in the fields of financial and strategic business model assessments, liquidity management, stakeholder management, business valuations and operational turnarounds. #KPMG #Turnaround #Restructuring #FinancialPerformanceIndex #DataDrivenInsights

KPMG Turnaround & Restructuring is pleased to share with you the Q2 2023 edition of our Financial Performance Index (FPI) publication. On a quarterly basis we provide our insights into the changing state of corporate health across all European markets, sectors, and subsectors as well as on the 9 key industries of importance to the Dutch economy as an indication of its health. Key takeaways from this edition: - The overall FPI score landed somewhat lower (88) compared to the previous 5 quarters (around 89); - A similar picture is seen when looking at companies being close to default, as the absolute and relative number of such companies increased for the second quarter in a row and across most sectors; - One of the growth drivers on both a European and Dutch level is consumer demand, as reflected by the improved FPI scores for sectors as Travel, Restaurants and Hotels; - However, the higher interest rate environment is affecting a.o. the Infrastructure & Real Estate sector with a 10th consecutive quarterly decrease. If this lasts for longer, also depending on macro economic developments, this could affect consumer confidence and therefore growth. Please reach out to us if you have questions or if KPMG's Turnaround & Restructuring team can be of support to you. #KPMG #Turnaround #Restructuring #FinancialPerformanceIndex #DataDrivenInsights

It was apleasure to host yesterday's general meeting of the Dutch Restructuring Association at KPMG. Next to an interesting program - The psychology of the restructuring - it was good catching up with many from the Restructuring network.

For investors, financiers, regulators and governments, KPMG has developed the KPMG Financial Performance Index (FPI). FPI seeks to provide insights into the relative strength and health of key markets and sectors. With millions of datapoints going back to 2017, our long-term trends can help you spot signs of improvement or impending distress. KPMG’s Financial Performance Index is one of the clearest indices of corporate financial performance. After experiencing an y-o-y decline of 1.40 percent in 3Q22, global corporate financial performance continued to fall, with the KPMG FPI dropping from 90.68 in 3Q22 to 89.59 in 4Q22. Please discover which countries, territories and sectors are performing among the best and which are underperforming based on Q4 2022 data. KPMG keeps on developing the tool and more to come. #KPMG #Turnaround #Restructuring

#herstructurering #distresseddebt #insolventie #investeerders #privateequity #KPMG #Restructuring
