The Medic Archetype in Remnant 2 revolves around a support-oriented playstyle that focuses on keeping the team alive. It's unrivaled when it comes to anything healing-related, but it's not all love and peace where this character class is concerned. With the right setup, players can go from good doctor to undying warrior that harms just as much as it heals.

The following is a Remnant 2 Medic build for solo players that's all about high self-sustain. It still allows players to be useful in a group scenario thanks to the Medic's supportive nature, so there will be no need to swap equipment whenever a friend decides to join the party.

Updated June 3, 2024 by Marc Santos: Despite some changes to items and archetypes, Medics remain as strong as ever since Remnant 2's launch. With the launch of the game's DLCs, players now have more options to build their characters the way they want. As such, this guide has been updated to include a number of potentially awesome equipment from the Forgotten Kingdom DLC that revolve around improving the player's healing capabilities, weapons mods, and abilities. The original Medic build made for this guide remains very viable even in Remnant 2's harder difficulty modes. Feel free to mix and match the new items with the old setup to see what works best for you.

Almost every part of the Medic's kit is all about healing. Solo players can take advantage of this by creating a build that's all about keeping oneself alive even in the most dire of situations, such as the fight against the Nightweaver in Remnant 2. Fortunately, there are a ton of items in the game that can reduce incoming damage while further boosting the player's own healing effects.

This setup revolves around stacking Shields and lifesteal to keep players alive. As long as even a tiny bit of Shield is active, every point of damage players deal will heal them for a small amount thanks to Difference Engine granting 1.5% base damage as lifesteal. This becomes even stronger when Nightfall's mod is active.

Players can pick any Hand Gun they want for this build, though keeping an extra weapon for close quarters is preferred. The Double Barrel is especially great in this space, and it synergizes well with Tightly Wound Coil (gain Shield after spending 75% of a weapon's magazine) and the Slayer Mutator (next shot deals more damage after reloading). Remnant 2's Enigma Hand Gun is a great choice for dealing with crowds, though a greatsword can work just as well.

Remnant 2: Best Archetype Traits, Ranked

The character classes, known as Archetypes, in Remnant 2 each have their own unique Traits. Here are the absolute best Traits among these Archetypes.

Due to the excessive healing provided by lifesteal effects and Healing Shield, players can opt to take some of the more exotic Relic options like the Quilted Heart or Void Heart. The former synergizes with Rerouting Cable to give players both Shield and health when rolling, while the latter increases the player's damage resistance to make all incoming healing effects effectively stronger.

Using the Challenger as the secondary Archetype increases the player's survivability and effectiveness at close range. Feel free to swap this for the Hunter or Remnant 2's new Gunslinger class for more damage.
