Will AI Kill Marketing? It's a topic that gets talked about a LOT, and AI in general seems to creep into many conversations - the 2024 version of 2020's 'should we be on TikTok'!I joined a cracking live event at lunchtime, hosted by Heather Murray, where a great panel of people discussed what tools they use, potential pitfalls and what the future holds. They were:Isabella Bedoya - AI workflow and AI agent mastermindKatherine Banks - Social Media Manager at AI giant HeyGenNancy Bain - Bespoke AI assistants and custom AI buildsJo Lambadjieva - AI for e-commerce specialistTara Thompson - AI workshop leader and speakerAudrey Chia đ - Human X AI copywriterValeriya Pilkevich - AI-driven marketing strategy and GPT ProMy stance?AI is a tasty filling in a human sandwich - human input, AI filling, human output.Same as most tools really! The more you do your homework, the better it can be, and crucially, if you can get it to do the stuff thats banal, repetitive, non critical you can free up time to focus on the stuff you're really good at.My favourite AI tools which help me do some of this are:âď¸ Canvaâď¸ Claudeâď¸ Fathomâď¸ Motionâď¸ ZapierNew ones I'm going to check out...âď¸ you.com - connects several AIs so you can compare outputsâď¸ Perplexity - research, links to sourcesâď¸ Pi - journal/ AI friendâď¸ Zapier centralâď¸ GeminiThank you everyone who contributed to this, a VERY informative session!#AIMarketing #MarketingTools #AlwaysLearning

đ Uh oh. Did I catch you checking me out? đłCome on - I did didn't I?Don't be shy now - I already know cos LinkedIn told me. đ¤ŁLinkedIn's 'Discover whoâs checking you out' notification makes me laugh every time it pops in my inbox. I immediately think of the Eurovision Movie. If you haven't seen it, Sigrid and Lars are the main characters and throughout the movie their thing is - 'I see you - I'm checking you out!'It used to put the actual sweaty armpit fear into me if I looked at someone's profile out of private mode, or if they viewed mine and then... HORROR... didn't connect or engage! Now?I love it. I go have a good old nosy at them too. After all we're all just humans trying to make our own way right? How can we connect with the right people for our business if we don't actually INVESTIGATE?So. Feel free to check me out no obligation. If you DO happen to nosy at my profile and have a question though, please do ask. I promise I won't stuff the hard sell up your left nostril.#LinkedInProfile #CheckMeOut #MarketingSupport

Judgy much?WellâŚYes. Weâre all judgemental, much as we like to think weâre not. We make assumptions, our brain is used to making connections it already knows. Critical thinking requires you to examine what you THINK you know. Itâs not that easy, and itâs particularly hard when it comes to marketing, because you have to put your own thoughts to one side for a sec.Yesterday, however, I could be as judgy as I liked, and trust my opinion, cos I was a judge at the local carnival.Me and Mayor Bill Hancox were paired up (poor chap đ) and had to mark floats based on the theme and carnival spirit.Great fun, and yet also not easy!If you need a judge for an event, I now have a very official rosette I can slap on.If you need a bit of critical thinking for your marketing, I can do that.*#firstimpressions #assumptions #officialjudgr* might buy myself an official rosette for that tooâŚ

Did you know we have, on average, 45 thoughts per minute? đ§ If, like me - you feel like you have a few hundred, it can be hard to pick out the relevant ones, focus on what is needed. Now, Iâm not going to prescribe one solution over another, expert in the human brain I am NOT.What I AM good at doing is helping you untangle the spaghetti. My clients are all running businesses. Busy businesses, successful businesses. Theyâre usually in technical spaces - engineering, manufacturing, software. They are very good at what they do.They are not short of drive, determination or ideas. What they lack is the experience and understanding in marketing. And time.*Enter Moi.I listen, let them upend their entire brain, get to the crux of whatâs really bothering them, and then we make a plan.Actions which are the right ones for them and their business. Then we DO the plan. I, or my team, help them get the shizzle done. Itâs deceptively simple. Hard and yet not hard at the same time. And itâs a damn sight easier if someone can at least take on half a dozen of the 45 thoughts a minute right?!Let me know if thatâs what you need. Iâll be over here jamming to Jacques Offenbach**#marketingmentor #thoughtparalysis #marketingsupport* Donât even START with the âwe all have the same 24 hoursâ narrative ok?** Dont be impressed at my classical knowledge. I had to use Gooogleâs hum to search to remember this.*** Donât look for the third asterisk, there isnât one. Mwahahaha đ

I tell you whatâs NOT helpful.ThisđTook a photo of some notes yesterday at the end of a meeting đ¸This is my phoneâs translation.*Brilliant. đFortunately I have the actual picture which I can read just fine, but it did make me laugh. You can have the best information at your fingertips, but if you donât know what to do with it, itâs as useful as a chocolate frog.If you need someone to translate marketing babble into actual business English, give me a shout, Iâm very good at it.If not - âmahe le bet one ol the haitâ**đĽ°#marketingcoach #marketingmentor #simplemarketing* think weâre safe from the robots for a little longerâŚ** no idea what this meant but it sounds Scottish and possibly rude?!

How can you stand out in a crowded market?Use some humour.B2B doesnât stand for BoringtoBoring, but ye gods it can feel like it!If youâre reading your own website and think itâs duller than Daveâs dominoes collection*, chances are your audience are asleep too đ¤Your product or service wonât become less valuable if you show a sense of humour, in fact, show a bit of personality and you might go up in potential clients estimation.OBVIOUSLY there is nuance, time and place blah blah blah, but in a society where folk are often offended, even being a little bit brave can help you stand out.**It might not be for you, but promise me youâll think about it?#marketingmessaging #humour #distinctiveness * apologies again to any Daves I know. Am conjuring an image for humorous effect.** case in point this perfect poster I spotted on a day out with the kids last week. Swan Travolta had me proper chuckling. đ¤

I canât make your business better. But I can give you the support, techniques and guidance you need to make your business better. The harsh truth is you canât hand it all over, sit back and do nowt - you want the results, youâve got to take the leap yourself. And you might miss. Knock stuff over. Land on your bum. In fact you probably will.BUT - ultimately the results will come. What I CAN (and do) do, is take the headache away. The MDs and CEOs I work with are not slackers, they work HARD, but the gap is not in their work ethic, itâs in their knowledge and experience.Enter the Happy Marketer*I take the marketing wheel. We discuss, we decide, we DO. Together. And all of a sudden it gets easier, they get results. Them. Not me.Cos itâs not about me, itâs about YOU. Your business. Your goals. Your barriers. If you need this sort of support drop me a dm.**#marketingsupport #marketingprocess #marketingresults * thatâs me btw.** I wonât video your every move I promise đ

Being a parent is wonderful and awful.Running a business is wonderful and awful.Social media is wonderful and awful. In every scenario, blame for things that go wrong can often be flung about like paint off a toddlerâs brush. We seek answers to try to understand. And we may not always get them.I lost somebody very close. We will never really know what happened and Iâve had to make my peace with that. But in this situation, there is the opportunity to try and get some answers. Please support if you agree.SophP.s normal irreverent marketing content service will resume tomorrow.

If youâre going to invest in personal branding, choose your team wisely.Kate Hollingsworth was superb*, we cosied in coffee shops, arsed about in arcades, whispered in the library, and generally had an absolute blast. And it shows.I LOVE my new photos, they totally capture me** and what I want you to feel when you consider Happy Marketer.I canât wait to reveal more, but until then enjoy these little dopamine shotsâŚ#personalbranding #marketing #photography* she preps like a pro, we had a huge set list, outfits, ideas, locations, messages - itâs not by chance!!!** I also have Samantha Harman to thank for her help with the outfits I dragged around all day - more of that later tooâŚ

The BEST thing about working for myself?Choosing not to once in a while.Today was spent ushering a bunch of kids around a theme park. It was, well, JOYOUS.*My daughter asked could I come and help, and I am fortunate enough to have built a business which meant I could. This isnât a humble brag.Itâs a reminder success is how you define it.The success of my business for me** is not just the cash in the bank, the celebration with clients when they succeed, the personal fulfillmentâŚâŚ itâs knowing I can run a business AND enjoy being a mum.Happy Monday from a Happy Marketer!! ***#marketing #businessowner #mum* and tiring.
